About The Foundation
The Foundation for Maine’s Community Colleges was established in 2010 and is dedicated to ensuring that the Maine Community College System and the State’s seven community colleges have the resources they need to provide a high quality and affordable college education for Maine people.
The Foundation seeks to enhance access to higher education and economic opportunity and to provide Maine employers with a highly trained and skilled workforce. To this end, the Foundation is focused on securing sustainable sources of philanthropic support for the Maine Community College System Board of Trustees’ current top priorities of student success, workforce development, and facilities and equipment.
To date, the Foundation has raised nearly $69 million to increase scholarship assistance, launch new academic programs, upgrade facilities, equipment and technology, and strengthen student support services for Maine community college students.
